Radiantem: A Collaboration

Collaboration

3 chords over and over again. That’s all that the background guitars do in my original, Radiantem. Sometimes it’s the simplest songs which are the best. I’m not sure why I asked one of the best guitarists I know to solo over something so simple but here we are.

During the COVID pandemic, I joined a live streaming platform called Sessions. It was amazing. I met so many amazing artists and music fans from all over the world. It was available 24/7. One artist I met was instrumental guitar virtuoso: Daniel Rezende. Out is his studio in Brazil, he was shredding Dream Theater, Eric Johnson, & even had a medley where he played all over Randy Rhoads’s guitar solos off the Blizzard of Ozz record.

After Sessions went under, we kept in touch through Instagram: DMs, comments on each other’s posts, voice messages, etc. I’m not sure how I worked up the nerve but mentioned I had a good rock song which had room for a guest solo on it. He said he’d be happy to solo on it – and what an amazing solo it was. When I play it live with backing tracks, I keep his solo in.

It’s criminal he’s not more known but been getting some good traction on his socials. Check him out. Give him a follow. Listen to him tear it up: Radiantem.
