Sadly, I didn’t get a chance to play last night’s open mic. The venue allows for 12 slots, picked at random. Those who didn’t get picked the prior 2 open mics get first dibs so that left 11 slots. I saw some regulars but was wondering if the recent Boston Globe article would get a few more people there.

I stayed for a few artists, like Connor Cassidy who I met there a few open mics ago. The second act was great but didn’t catch his name. I wish the list was posted somewhere. His concept of using an electronic kick drum which he used strategically was perfect and got me thinking I should implement something like that to break up any monotony.

A few other of the usual players didn’t get picked so I’m hoping to see and catch up with them on 05/20, the next Fallout Shelter open mic.
